Everybody wants to have a beautiful and special event, but if time or budget restraints are working against you, some compromises aren’t going to change your love for each other, or whether or not your family and friends want to celebrate with you.
I live in Whenuapai Village and over the last few months I have had a few enquiries from people in, or near, our community wanting to have a budget-friendly, mid-sized ceremony but struggling to find a venue which fits their requirements.
It’s easy to have a small wedding or civil union at home, at the beach, or in a favourite restaurant, but when you are in the 30-100 guest range it seems to be trickier. That’s why, for one day in March 2018, I will again transform the beautiful Whenuapai Village Hall into a special wedding / civil union venue for a unique day of celebration (see photos here).
If you, or someone you know, would like to have a personalised marriage or civil union ceremony on Saturday, March 24th 2018, I have organised our beautiful Whenuapai Village Hall to conduct three:
Morning ceremony: Guests arrive at 10am for your 10:30am ceremony. After your ceremony, have a few photos at the Hall before departing. Perhaps you could head to your favourite park for a picnic lunch... you could even ask them to bring their own hampers, or a contribution to your shared table.
Early afternoon ceremony: Guests arrive at 12:30pm for your 1pm ceremony. After your ceremony, have a few photos at the Hall before departing. Perhaps, head home or to a family members for a relaxed BBQ.
BOOKED - Late afternoon ceremony: Guests arrive at 3:30pm for your 4pm ceremony. After your ceremony, have a few photos at the Hall before departing. Perhaps off to a nice restaurant for dinner with your guests ... you could even ask them to pay for their meals in lieu of a gift.
If you'd like to book one of these ceremonies please contact me - the fee will be $750 and you'll get my regular celebrant services, as well as the hall beautifully decorated for your ceremony, including seating for up to 65 people (plus standing room if required - the hall capacity is 100 people).
Then you'll just need to:
Provide me with the music you’d like played for your ceremony.
Organise your photographer - friend, family or professional (I can refer you to some good local ones if you need assistance).
Organise your marriage or civil union licence – www.dia.govt.nz.
Plan your after party!
Please contact me to have a no obligation chat if you think
one of these ceremonies might be right for you.
